What happens when my AI agent transfers a call?
How a transfer to your own phone number works, what the caller hears when nobody answers, and how transfer time is billed.
The AI agent tells the caller it is putting them through and then calls your transfer number. From that moment the AI agent is no longer on the call. Whatever happens on your number decides the rest:
- you or a colleague answer and talk to the caller;
- your voicemail picks up and the caller can leave a message;
- your own phone system forwards the call further, if you set that up.
