Go to Phone Numbers in the sidebar, click Search & Select Numbers, select a Country, choose the Number Type (local, toll-free, etc.), enter an Area Code (required for US/Canada local), optionally enter a search pattern, click Search, select a number from the 20 results shown, and confirm purchase. The number is immediately added to your inventory and billed monthly.

Available types include Local (area code specific, all countries), Toll-Free (free for callers with 800/888 prefixes, all countries), National (geographic numbers available in NL, DE, FR, ES, PT, SE, FI), City (city-specific codes, Netherlands only), Mobile (UK, Belgium, Australia), and Shared-Cost (1300 numbers for Australia and Spain). Available types depend on the country selected and your verified addresses.

Staffify supports phone numbers in 16 countries: United States and Canada (no verification required), and United Kingdom, Netherlands, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Australia, Portugal, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland (all require address verification). Special types like National, Mobile, and Shared-Cost numbers are available in select countries.

What is address verification?

For phone numbers outside the US and Canada, telecom regulations require proof of a local business address. Go to Verify in Call Tools, click Add Address, enter your business address, upload required documents (business registration, utility bill, etc.), and submit for review. Status progresses through Pending, Verifying, Verified, Partially Verified, or Rejected. Verification typically takes 1-3 business days.

How many phone numbers can I have?

Phone number allocation is custom based on your enterprise agreement, with a specified number of included phone numbers and additional numbers available upon request. Numbers are available in all 16 supported countries. Contact your account manager to request additional phone numbers or discuss your allocation.

How much do phone numbers cost?

Accepted Answer

Phone number costs are included in your enterprise agreement. Phone numbers allocated in your agreement are included at no extra cost. Additional numbers are priced by country and number type and appear in your monthly invoice. Contact your account manager to discuss phone number allocation and pricing.

How do I assign a phone number to an AI Agent?

Go to Phone Numbers, find the number in the Available Numbers section, select an AI Agent from the dropdown, and click Assign. The number moves to the Assigned Numbers section and routes calls to that AI Agent. Each number can only be assigned to one AI Agent at a time.

How do I unassign a phone number?

Accepted Answer

Go to Phone Numbers, find the number in the Assigned Numbers section, click Unassign, and confirm the action. The number moves back to Available Numbers and can be reassigned to a different AI Agent.

Can I release (delete) a phone number?

Accepted Answer

Go to Phone Numbers, find the number, click the delete icon, and confirm the action. Released numbers enter a 7-day recovery period during which the number stays in inventory but is unusable. After 7 days the number is permanently released from the carrier and may be reassigned to someone else. After the recovery period you cannot get the number back.

Can I port my existing phone number to Staffify?

Yes. Porting transfers your existing number from another provider to Staffify. Contact support at staffifyai.com/contact and provide the phone number(s) to port, current provider name, account number with current provider, PIN or authorization code if applicable, and business name and address. Porting typically takes 1-2 weeks. Keep your service active with your current provider until the port completes.

Can I search for a specific number pattern?

Yes. When searching for numbers, select country and number type, then enter digits you want in the search field (e.g. "555" to find numbers containing 555, "1234" to find numbers ending in 1234, "777" for repeating digits), and click Search. Results show 20 numbers per search. Vanity numbers may have limited availability.

What's the difference between local and toll-free numbers?

Local numbers have area code-specific formats and callers may pay long-distance charges. An area code is required for searching. They are best for local businesses and regional presence. Toll-free numbers use 800, 888, 877, 866, 855, 844, or 833 prefixes and are free for callers. No area code is required. They are best for national businesses and support lines.

Why can't I buy numbers in some countries?

Common reasons include address not verified (submit verification in the Verify section), number type unavailable for that country (try a different type), regulatory restrictions (contact support), inventory shortage (try a different area code or check back later), or allocation limit reached (contact your account manager to add more numbers).

Can I assign one number to multiple AI Agents?

No, each phone number can only be assigned to one AI Agent at a time. Alternatives include using an IVR Menu so one number routes to different AI Agents based on caller selection, reassigning numbers between AI Agents as needed, or purchasing additional numbers for different AI Agents.

What happens to calls if my number isn't assigned?

If a phone number has no AI Agent assigned, inbound calls will not be answered. Callers hear ringing with no answer, and no recording or transcript is generated. Always ensure your active numbers are assigned to an AI Agent or IVR Menu.

How do I see my phone number inventory?

Go to Phone Numbers in the sidebar. You will see two sections: Available Numbers (unassigned numbers ready to use, where you can select an AI Agent to assign) and Assigned Numbers (numbers currently in use, showing which AI Agent they are assigned to, with the option to unassign). Each number displays the phone number, location, type, and monthly cost.
